On 11 November, CCTV Commissioning Engineer Ian McCrae is taking on a 30-mile trek across the Sahara, the world's largest hot desert, to raise money for Derian House Children's Hospice in Chorley, Lancashire. He'll face daytime temperatures above 30°C, rocky terrain and sand dunes, finishing with a climb across the Chigaga Dunes on the final day.
Derian House provides respite and end-of-life care for more than 400 babies, children and young people across the North West, free to families. With less than 30% of its funding coming from government, fundraising is vital.
